HABEMUS PAPAM! POPE FRANCIS

Habemus Papam, a Latin word which means "We have a pope."


I announce to you a great joy:
We have a pope!
The most eminent and most reverend Lord.
Lord Jorge Mario Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church Bergoglio,
Who takes for himself the name of Francis.

March 13, 2013 (at the Vatican) - In the fifth ballot on the 2nd day of the Conclave, the cardinals elected 76 year old Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina, who took the name of Francis. 

First in church history:

1. He is the first Pope from Latin America.
2. The first Pope to use the name Francis.
3. The first Pope from the Jesuit community.

Facts:

1. He only has one lung. His other lung was removed when he was a teenager due to life-threatening pneumonia.
2.  He holds a degree in Chemistry.
